ACEH Quake

 An earthquake measuring 8.5 on the Scala Richter (SR) rocked Simeuleue,Banda Aceh, at 15:30 pm, Wednesday, April 11. The quake lasted up to eighthours and an aftershock measuring magnitude 6.
Until now, the panic is still visible in the city center to the periphery. Almost the whole point of the traffic by a resident who escaped ran out of buildings, as was seen at a hospital where patients flee flew out to save themselves.
Information collected from local BMKG (badan meteorologi klimatologi dan geofisika), mentions that the SR 8.5-magnitude earthquake struck almost all cities in the mainland island of Sumatra and tsunamipotential.
This information is based on residents in Meulaboh (area worst hit by the tsunami,2005, red), when sea water is receding along the 6 meters from the beach and then by the local government issued a tsunami warning.
BMKG head, Sri Woro B Harijono said the epicenter was 10 kilometers with a depth of 364 kilometers in Southwestern Simeulue District, 434 kilometersSouthwest of Meulaboh, and approximately 443 kilometers from Banda Aceh to the center coordinates of 2.31 ​​degrees North latitude (LU) and 92.67 degreeseast longitude
